Congressman Sires’ Statement on Higher Education Funding
On Friday, Congressman Albio Sires (D-District 8) released the following statement regarding Governor Murphy’s announcement that $150 million from the Coronavirus Relief Fund from the CARES Act is going to higher education institutions across the New Jersey:
“I’m pleased that federal funding is being put to good use in supporting our state’s higher education institutions, including community colleges. The pandemic has impacted many organizations across the country and our colleges and universities are no exception. Funding that my colleagues and I were able to secure will help schools, particularly those that serve underrepresented communities, weather the storm. Our institutions are a key part of our communities and economy and by assisting them, we are also working towards our long-term recovery.”
