Sires: WNY Receives Federal Grant For Its Emergency Medical Services Department

Congressman Sires Congratulates West New York for Receiving Federal Funds for the EMS Department

(Washington, D.C.) – Today Rep. Albio Sires announced over $170,000 in federal Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) funding for the West New York Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Department

Congratulations to West New York for receiving this competitive grant,” said Rep. Sires. “This funding will better equip emergency medical technicians (EMTs) protecting West New York, support first-responders needs, and keep residents safe.”

The AFG Program is a grant program within the Department of Homeland Security focused on supporting our nations’ fire departments and enhancing public safety against fire hazards.

  1. Congressman Sires was a good Mayor of West New York, a good Assemblyman, effective Assembly Speaker, and good Congressman who tenaciously fought for, and delivered for his constituents. While he could retire, he is choosing the selfless and more noble path of running for Mayor of his beloved West New York again. WNY was well served with Mr. Sires at the helm of our 100th Anniversary, and will be well served again with him as our Mayor for our 125th Anniversary.
