Now you know why it is called March Madness!!!! For the second time in less than a week, the Peacocks of St. Peter’s University pulled off an unbelievable upset in the NCAA Men’s College Basketball Tournament.
After stunning the college basketball world by defeating #2 ranked Kentucky, a perennial college basketball powerhouse, the #15 seeded St. Peter’s of Jersey City, did it again, defeating #7 seed Murray State by a score of 70-60 on Saturday to advance to the Sweet 16 for the first time in school history. Is this really happening to this tiny university on Kennedy Boulevard? It sure is!!!!


Saint Peter’s ended Murray State’s 21-game winning streak, breaking the hearts of Kentuckians yet again. The Peacock’s got 17 points from KC Ndefo. St. Peter’s is just the third #15 seeded team in tournament history to advance to the Sweet 16.
Following their success in Indianapolis, St. Peter’s, the winner of 9 straight, will now face the winner of tonight’s game between #6 Texas and #3 Purdue next week in Philadelphia.
