Stack Legislation Blocking Conversion of Affordable Housing to Condos Now Law

Legislation allowing some municipalities in New Jersey to block the conversion of affordable, rental housing units into condos, has been signed into law by Governor Phil Murphy.  The legislation, which was signed on Friday, was sponsored by State Senator Brian Stack.

Senator Stack said, “This is a great victory for affordable housing in New Jersey.”  Stack praised the Governor for recognizing the overwhelming need for affordable, rental housing units across the state.

The measure was approved in the Senate 26-13 and in the Assemby by a vote of 50-27.
