Sunday Afternoon Shooting In Paterson Injures One, Investigation Continues

SHOOTING IN AREA OF MAIN AND ESSEX STREETS IN PATERSON 

JUNE 27, 2021 – Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announced that at approximately 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 27, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of Madison Street and Essex Street on a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, members of the Paterson Police Department located a 48-year-old male Paterson resident who sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound, sitting inside a residence.

The victim was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson for treatment. A potential crime scene was located in the first-floor hallway of the residence. The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
