SUNDAY SHOOTING IN AREA OF ESSEX AND STRAIGHT STREETS IN PATERSON
Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announce that at approximately 9:35 p.m. on April 18, 2021, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of Essex Street and Straight Street in Paterson, New Jersey on a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival members of the Paterson Police Department located evidence of a crime scene but were unable to locate a victim. A short time later members of the Paterson Police Department were advised that a 19-year-old male Paterson resident arrived Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
