Photo Credit: Google Maps Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora say that at approximately 10:20 p.m. last night, police officers were dispatched to the area of Madison Street and Essex Street in the City of Paterson in response to a report of a shooting.
Upon their arrival, they discovered a 15-year-old female, from North Haledon, lying in front of 36 Essex Street. The female had sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Four additional victims, a 29-year-old male from Paterson, a 26-year-old male from Paterson, a 32-year-old male from Paterson, and a 21-year-old male from Paterson also suffered non-life threatening gunshot wounds, and were treated at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for their injuries.
This investigation is active and ongoing. More information will be released when it becomes available.
