Hundreds of residents turned out in Donnelly Park on Sunday night, as West New York lit its municipal Christmas tree. The Grinch tried to ruin the evening, but Santa and Mrs. Claus made sure that did not happen.
There were dance performances, holiday songs and plenty of smiles as the town kicked off the holiday season.
This was the fourth year that the Rodriguez Administration decorated the park and lit the tree, and by all accounts, it was the biggest and best yet.

The Memorial High School Marching Band was on hand to perform, and youngsters from the town’s elementary schools performed dance routines. The cheerleaders also brought smiles to the hundreds of residents in attendance, as they did a routine as well.
Hot chocolate and cookies were served and everyone, except the Grinch, had a fabulous time during the hour long event.
