Ticket Complete: Gillen Joins Bayonne Mayoral Candidate Nadrowski As 3rd Ward Council Candidate

Bayonne Mayoral candidate Sharon Nadrowski has completed her May 12th ticket, announcing that retired Police Detective Thomas “Tommy” Gillen Jr. will be her Third Ward Council candidate.  Nadrowski, in a press release, cited Gillen’s decades of public safety leadership and lifelong commitment to Bayonne.

Gillen, a Bayonne resident for over 50 years, has spent more than 30 years protecting Hudson County communities.  He served as a 9-1-1 operator to working patrol, detective assignments, and most recently as Executive Aide to the Sheriff.  The release states Gillen brings unmatched frontline and executive experience in public safety and crisis management.

Nadrowski says, “Tommy understands that safe neighborhoods and responsive government are the foundation of a strong city.  Residents deserve streets that are safe, clean, and well-maintained, and a City Hall that listens and responds. Tommy will fight every day to protect our quality of life in the Third Ward.”

There is a long history of public service in the Gillen family.   His grandfather served as a Jersey City Police Officer and as Hudson County Sheriff.  His father is a retired police officer. His brother is a Bayonne firefighter.  Alongside his wife, a lieutenant in the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office, Gillen remains deeply committed to keeping families safe and strengthening the community he calls home.

Gillen’s campaign will focus on strengthening neighborhood safety, improving communication between residents and City Hall, addressing quality-of-life concerns like traffic enforcement, street conditions, and cleanliness, and ensuring government transparency and accountability.

“I’ve spent my career protecting this community,” said Gillen. “Now I’m ready to bring that same commitment to the Third Ward — making sure our neighborhoods are safe, our concerns are heard, and our city government works for residents.”

Completing the Nadrowski ticket are Gene Perry running in the 1st Ward, Board of Education Trustee Melissa Godesky-Rodriguez in the 2nd Ward, with Miriam Salama and Mark Bottino running for council at-large seats.
