On Saturday, Hudson TV reported that a Union City Domino’s Pizzeria at 524 31st Street was charged by police when officers observed two employees not wearing masks.  The incident happened on May 19 in violation of Governor Phil Murphy’s emergency directive.

Now, Hudson TV has obtained two videos showing an employee at the Domino’s Pizzeria, located at 80 W. Palisade Avenue in Englewood, working without wearing a mask.  The incidents reportedly occurred on April 24 and May 17.

Hudson TV has left messages seeking comment from Domino’s corporate office in Ann Arbor, Michigan and from MSK Management, the franchise owner of the Englewood Domino’s location.  We also spoke to the Englewood Police Department, which directed us to the state 2-1-1 telephone hotline.

James Fedorko from the Englewood Health Department told Hudson TV this afternoon that “they were not aware of the situation at the local Domino’s, but they would send out an inspector to check it out.”

In addition to Governor Murphy’s directive requiring businesses to instruct their employees to wear facing coverings, Domino’s own corporate website has a statement from CEO Ritch Allison, dated May 7, which talks about health and safety measures the company has put into place as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.  It reads in part, “In addition to implementing numerous precautions based on the advice of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and other health authorities to minimize the risk of the transmission of COVID-19, we mandated additional training in our stores to reinforce good hygiene practices and social distancing. We increased the frequency of the disinfection of all food contact surfaces (including delivery bags) and other frequently touched surfaces. We continue to emphasize the importance of frequent handwashing. We have mandated the use of masks and have strongly encouraged the use of gloves by delivery experts. Additionally, we think it’s important to note that all made to order food is baked in a 450-degree oven and is not touched by anyone until you open the box.”
