An investigation is underway after two women, aged 18 and 23, were shot last night in Jersey City. According to city spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione, the injuries are not life threatening.
At approximately 9:22 pm, police responded to a call of shots fired in the area of Bergen and Lexington Avenues. Jersey City Police officers patrolling in the area were flagged down for shots being fired at 11-15 Lexington Avenue, where police found the two victims.
The women were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Police are continuing their investigation.
