UCBOE To Distribute COVID Antigen Test Kits Beginning Today

The Union City Board of Education announced in a Facebook post this morning that the District, working in conjunction with Mayor Brian Stack’s office and the Board of Commissioners, will be distributing COVID antigen test kits “as one example of a proactive strategy that is being implemented” to invest in the health and safety of its students and staff.

The School District’s announcement went on to say, “As you know, the availability of COVID-19 antigen home tests is extremely limited throughout New Jersey. Each school has designated a distribution team that will be responsible for assisting you with the school test kit resources.

Parents are asked to administer the test to their child on Monday, January 17. If the test reflects a positive result, we ask that you keep the child at home and call the child’s school on the morning of Tuesday, January 18, to report your child as absent, and additional resources will be provided. Use the test, and stop the spread!”
District schools will be closed on Monday, January 17 in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Union City parents can pick up a test for their child at their child’s school beginning this afternoon.   The pick up scheduled is as follows:
Today (Friday), 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Tomorrow (Saturday), 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Monday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
