Union City Celebrates Moms With a Seniors Mother’s Day Luncheon

It was a festive afternoon on Saturday as Union City celebrated moms.  It was the Senior Citizens Mother’s Day Luncheon at the Colin Powell Elementary School.  Approximately 240 mothers attended the event, and everyone has a blast!!

There was dancing, music and plenty of great food served by students from Union City High School’s Junior ROTC Program.  Commissioners Maryury Martinetti, Celin Valdivia and Lucio Fernandez were all in attendance to fete the moms, with each saying everyday should be Mother’s Day when you consider all that moms do for all of us each and every day.

The seniors enjoyed a hot lunch of pulled pork, rice and macaroni with meat sauce, along with dessert.  There was great conversation and a feeling of being loved.

So, take the time on Sunday to say thank you mom for all you do.  You are loved and appreciated.
