Union City Celebrates PRIDE Day With Two Events Today

Mayor Brian Stack and the Union City Board of Commissioners joined with members of the LGBTQ community at noon this afternoon to celebrate PRIDE Day, by raising the multi-colored flag in Washington Park at the corner of Second Street and Palisade Avenue.

Commissioners attending besides the Mayor were Celin Valdivia and Mauaury Martinetti.

This afternoon’s flag raising was just the start of Friday’s festivities recognizing the diversity among Union City’s population.  Tonight, a PRIDE celebration will be taking place at the corner of 15th Street and New York Avenue.  It begins at 6 pm and will continue through 9 o’clock.  There will be live music, popcorn, cotton candy, free hot dogs and water, as well as rides and activities for the entire community to enjoy.
