Union City High School Graduation Tonight

The start of the next phase of their lives begins tonight.  Union City High School commencement ceremonies for 663 graduating seniors will begin at 6 pm in the Kennedy Boulevard high school.  And I thought I had a large graduating class…597 from Paramus High School, way, way, way too many decades ago.  But I digress.                                                                                                                                                                Noted attorney Guillermo Artiles will be the keynote speaker.  The 2023 valedictorian is Dayanara Grau, while the salutatorian is Yael Herrera and the class president is Jailyn Suarez.

Artiles is a partner at McCarter & English, one of New Jersey’s largest and most prestigious law firms, where he chairs the government affairs practice. A former law clerk to United States District Court Judge Esther Salas, who is a Union City native, he served previously as Associate Counsel to Governor Phil Murphy.

Artiles serves and has served on the boards of several organizations, including as an Associate Trustee of the Hispanic Bar Association, Deputy Regional President of the Hispanic National Bar Association and the Cuban American Alliance for Leadership & Education, among many others.
