As the start of school approaches on September 7th in Union City, new students to the district, and returning student athletes, must make sure to get their physical examinations and proper immunizations prior to the beginning  of classes and sports activities.  On Saturday, at Union City High School, the Board of Education and North Hudson Community Action Corporation held a Back to School Health and Immunization Fair.

The fair was only for Union City students.  Approximately 90 signed up for the physical exams and immunizations.  This was the largest such event co-sponsored by the UCBOE and NHCAC.  North Hudson hopes to expand to other school districts next year, making it easy for parents and their children to get the proper exams and paperwork done so the students don’t miss any class time.

If any student needed a follow up appointment, it was scheduled during Saturday’s visit.
