Families came out for Union City’s Earth Day celebration on 23rd Street next to Ellsworth Park on Saturday.  Kids loved the bouncy inflatables.  Parents loved the free plants and vegetables…..and city officials loved that residents are doing their recycling part.
According to Union City’s Recycling Coordinator Kidany Diaz, residents are doing a pretty good job of meeting the state’s recycling goals.  Residents were given a recycling bag to carry their free giveaway items, which included fresh fruits, recycled water bottles, juice boxes for the children and house plants.
Union City Commissioner Maryury Martinetti was on hand to greet residents and tell them to keep recycling.  She told Hudson TV that recycling is a huge priority in her own household.
As it should be in all of our homes.
