A criminal complaint says the female driver of the other vehicle involved in the accident was heading southbound on Harrison Street when the off-duty officer’s vehicle, traveling westbound on Paterson Avenue, blew through a red light, resulting in the crash.

The complaint says Roldan told Hoboken officers the traffic light was yellow, not red, when he went through the intersection and was struck by another vehicle.  The female driver was not injured.

Hoboken Police smelled alcohol on Roldan’s breath and he subsequently failed a field sobriety test and was placed under arrest.
