Angela Santana, a 35-year-old woman from Union City, was arrested on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, following a month-long narcotics investigation by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force. Santana is facing multiple charges, including Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine and Fentanyl, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with the Intent to Distribute, and Hindering Apprehension.
According to the investigation, Santana was arrested at her residence on 25th Street after investigators executed a court authorized search warrant. Upon entering the apartment, Santana was found discarding suspected cocaine down a bathtub drain. Investigators seized over 25 grams of cocaine, over a dozen fentanyl pills, and drug paraphernalia.
Santana is facing charges of Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine within 1,000 Feet of a School, a crime of the third degree, and Tampering with Physical Evidence, a crime of the fourth degree. She was released pending her first court appearance, which is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, April 25, 2023.
Prosecutor Esther Suarez commended the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force for their work on the investigation and arrest. It is important to note that the above charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
