Amazing news for Union City’s Union Hill Middle School. The Board of Education has announced that the school has been name a Blue Ribbon Lighthouse School.
The distinguished Blue Ribbon Lighthouse Award through the Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence, is the highest level of recognition granted by the prestigious national organization to schools which demonstrate exceptional performance and best practices in education.
In an Instagram post from the Union City Board of Education, officials stated, “This honor follows a comprehensive national evaluation process, which included:
• An in depth review of student achievement and growth data over the last four years
• Analysis of instructional practices, leadership, and school systems
• Nearly 1,000 surveys submitted by students, parents, and staff
• A formal on site visit conducted by an independent national assessor, who interviewed stakeholders and observed our school in action
The results were clear: Union Hill stands as a model of excellence.”
“This award belongs to our staff, students, families, and entire Union Hill community. It is a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and belief that lives inside our building every single day,” stated Principal Michael Abbato.
