The death of a man pulled from the Hackensack River near the eastern spur of the New Jersey Turnpike on Saturday afternoon has been ruled a homicide.
Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced on Monday morning that the still unidentified male victim died of gunshot wounds to the upper body. That determination was made during an autopsy performed by the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office on Sunday.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit is actively working with law enforcement agencies statewide to identify the victim.
