New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy’s State of Emergency due to heavy rains, flooding and heavy winds tonight begins at 5 pm.

All municipal garages are at capacity for the residential discounted rate and remain open for monthly members only. Residents looking for garage space are encouraged to contact private garages in the area.

All City recreation fields, programs/games, and indoor gym facilities will close at 5 p.m. today.

Waste collection and Christmas Tree disposal are suspended for tonight. Please do not put trash cans, recycling bins, or trees on the curb tonight. Certain City garbage cans may be removed from public roadways due to high winds.

Street cleaning is canceled for tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 10.

The storm is forecasted to bring heavy rain of 2 to 3 inches, with localized higher amounts possible, and winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 50 mph. Flooding is likely in low-lying areas, especially during periods of high tide. The next high tides for the Hoboken area are at approximately 6:45 p.m. and 7:02 a.m.
