As Hudson TV reported last night, Secaucus firefighters were on the scene of a fire at a 105,000 square foot data center, located at 1 Enterprise Avenue North.  The facility is home to Evocative, formerly INAP, located east of Meadowlands Parkway and south of Route 3.

The data center, according to its website, “offers the high performance that is essential to support…businesses with fast and reliable connectivity to local and global endpoints alike.” Many of those businesses in the New York metropolitan area are Fortune 500 companies.

During a telephone interview with Hudson TV this morning, Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller said the fire went to two alarms after breaking out at 5:58 pm.  It was confined to a specific area of the warehouse-like structure, and was electrical in nature.

The cause is currently under investigation by both the Secaucus Police Arson Detective, although there is no indication at this time that arson was involved, and the Secaucus Office of Fire Prevention, under the direction of Fire Official Vinny Massaro.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.

Hudson TV is awaiting additional information from the Fire Official.

This morning the data center posted that power remains off at the data center and it will remain off until the site is cleaned and the company receives the go ahead from the fire official to turn the power back on.
