Walker & Sampson Win Democratic Primary In 31st District

While the votes have yet to be certified, according to the latest tally released by the Hudson County Clerk’s Office on Thursday morning, with 100 percent of districts reporting, Hudson County Commissioner Jerry Walker and his running mate, Assemblyman Will Sampson, have won the Democratic Primary for Assembly in the 31st Legislative District.

Walker received 8,829 votes, for 28.65  percent, with Sampson finishing second with 7,523 votes for 24.31 percent.

Incumbent freshman Assemblywoman Barbara McCann Stamato finished third, tallying 7,325 votes for 23.67 percent.  Her running mate, Bayonne Councilwoman Jaqueline Weimmer came in fourth at 22.98 percent, or 7,111 votes.

The 31st District represents Bayonne, Kearny and the majority of Jersey City.
