Weehawken 20th Anniversary 9/11 Remembrance

Weehawken Mayor Richard Turner, and the Town Council, held a 20th Anniversary 9/11 Remembrance at the 9/11 Memorial near Pershing Road. The ceremony commemorated those who lost their lives on this tragic day, including 5 residents of Weehawken. Police officers, and fire fighters were in attendance, in honor of their services 20 years ago. The town’s 9/11 memorial has two pieces from the fallen towers, placed right before the New York City Skyline. The ceremony began at 8:30 am, with massive support from residents following a huge crowd. It was a beautiful day with no clouds in sight, on a day with so much sadness attached.. For all who have lost someone on 9/11, our prayers go out to you & your families.
