Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis expressed his condolences to the family of retired Fire Department Battalion Chief Peter McMonagle. Pete was a lifelong friend as we grew up together on 4th Street and enjoyed many laughs at Robbins Reef and the old Parente’s.
Pete and his family have dedicated their lives to public service, as Pete served on the BFD for 28 years, while his brothers Captain Pat, Captain Kevin, and Captain Brian also all retired from our fire department. Pete also has two nephews serving as Police Officers, Matthew on the Bayonne Police Department and Patrick on the Port Authority Police Department.
Pete was funny, kind, and bright, and he loved our city. I will certainly miss him!
