The Weehawken Library joined with Weehawken High School’s Black Student Union for a Black History Month celebration at the Senior Nutrition Center on Wednesday night.
The event featured musical performances by Rhonda Dene’t and a discussion of the Black Student Union’s recent trip to Harlem, where they visited many of the cultural region’s many iconic venues. The students took many photos, which will be part of an exhibit at the Weehawken Public Library, opening on February 19th at 6:30 pm.

New Jersey Amistad Commissioner, and township resident Ane Roseborough-Eberhard, spoke of the importance of highlighting Black heritage and communicating history to children and visiting museums.
The Black Student Union was formed in 2017 as an after school club. It currently has approximately 45 members.
