Weehawken Distributes 250 Thanksgiving Meals to Families & Seniors

The Township of Weehawken made today’s Thanksgiving holiday more special for local families and senior citizens, by delivering 250 complete Thanksgiving meals to those in need.  The distribution and packing location was the Gregory Senior Apartments.

The meals, provided by an outside company, contained turkey, stuffing and gravy, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, soup and salad plus dessert.

In addition to Mayor Richard Turner, Township Manager Gio Ahmad, Deputy Mayor Carmela Silvestri-Ehret, Councilmen Robert Sosa and David Curtis, volunteers packing the meals for distribution around the township included police officers, members of North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue, local EMTs, DPW employees and high school student who are part of the Peer Leadership team.
