West New York Kicks Off Recreation Soccer Program With Saturday Parade

Hundreds of West New York kids took part in a Saturday parade to welcome the start of the summer soccer program.

Some 700 boys and girls have signed up for the town’s summer Recreation Department soccer program, a free program for kids aged 7 through 18.

Games, which begin on Monday, are played at Centennial Field on Port Imperial Boulevard.  According to the West New York Recreation Department, approximately 100 more girls have signed up for this summer’s soccer program than last year.

The summer soccer program is just one of many Recreation Department activities in West New York.  Among the other programs available for the kids are baseball, basketball and cheerleading.
