Winners Bayonne Shuts Down To Mitigate the Spread of COVID-19

With live horse racing already cancelled at the Meadowlands racetrack to help mitigate the spread of the COVID-19, coronavirus, the track announced on Monday that Winners Bayonne on Route 440 was also shutting its doors at 8 o’clock last night to slow the potential for more positive cases of the virus.

Winners will remain closed indefinitely, meaning there will be no simulcasting of horse races or betting taking place.

An email from the Meadowlands Raceway issued yesterday afternoon stated, “The health and safety of our employees, horsemen, patrons and community are our top priority.”

Casino gambling in Atlantic City has also shut down due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19.
