Following a successful first year in Miller Park, the West New York community garden, under the oversight of Mayor Albio Sires and the Board of Commissionners, held a workshop on Saturday led by a representative from 4H of Hudson County.

With the weather warming up, expect to see all sorts of fruits and vegetables growing in the community garden, as local residents have taken to the garden with their green thumbs. Tomatoes, onions, peppers, eggplant and kale.  It’s all growing in the plots.

Saturday’s workshop feature 4H of Hudson County garden manager giving tips to the enthusiastic planters on ways to make their gardens thrive.

While all of the plots in the community garden are currently taken, you can join the waiting list.  Just contact Rosemarie Suarez at (201) 295-5119.
