West New York continued a federal food distribution program on Thursday, giving out a variety of produce and canned goods to residents in need.  The town administration does this every two weeks in conjunction with the county.
Approximately 200 residents braved the chilly temperatures outside of Miller Stadium this morning, waiting for the free food to be handed out.
The food is provided by the County of Hudson through a federal program.  Every two.weeks the municipality receives different items, everything from canned goods, to potatoes and onions, fresh fruit and boxed cereals.
All of the food was distributed on a first come, first serve basis.
