WNY Man Arrested By Hoboken Police On Burglary & Theft Charges

Hoboken Police arrested 33-year old Juan Ruiz of West New York on Thursday night for the January 19th burglary and theft of four packages of baby formula, valued at $140.00, from a residential building, located on the 900 block of Madison Street in Hoboken.

According to Hoboken Detective/Lt. Danilo Cabrera, Ruiz was apprehended at 6:06 pm on Thursday in the area of 300 Marshall Drive.  He had been wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the Union City Municipal Court.  While Ruiz was being processed, the arresting officers were informed by the Hoboken Detective Bureau that they were preparing charges against him for the January 19th burglary and theft.

Police had been working on this case since the victim of the burglary came forward on January 31st and told them an unknown male, allegedly Ruiz, entered his building and stole the baby formula at 5:42 pm on the 19th..

Ruiz has been taken to the Hudson County Jail where he will remain until a court appearance.
