Nearly eleven months after a woman riding an electric bike was seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident near 50th Street and Bergenline Avenue in West New York, the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit has announced the arrest of 37-year old, West New York resident Jason Flores.
According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, Flores was arrested on Friday in connection with the December 14, 2022 incident.
Flores was arrested at the Hudson County Correctional Facility while being detained on an unrelated matter. He faces charges of knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle collision, a third degree crime, and endangering an injured person, also a crime of the third degree.
Prosecutor Suarez says the December hit-and-run left a 33-year old, North Bergen woman seriously hurt. She was treated at the Jersey City Medical Center for injuries that were not considered life threatening.
The charges against Flores are merely accusations and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
