WNY Man Charged With Sexual Assault of Two Young Boys, Aged 4 & 7

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez released the following, disturbing information on Wednesday afternoon:

On Tuesday, June 28, 2022, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit arrested 24-year old, Antonio Yat Pop of West New York on charges relating to the sexual assault of a 4-year-old boy and a sex crime on a 7-year-old boy.

According to Prosecutor Suarez, the victims are known to Yat Pop and two additional children were present at the time of the crimes. Yat Pop is charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault, a crime of the first degree, two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child in, crimes of the third degree, and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, crimes of the third degree. He was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City and remanded to the Hudson County Correctional Facility in Kearny.

The State has filed a detention motion, which is scheduled to be heard on Tuesday, July 5, 2022. The crimes occurred on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 inside a West New York residence.

Prosecutor Suarez credited the Special Victims Unit and West New York Police Department with the investigation and arrest.

The above charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
