The West New York Recreation Department, at the encouragement of Mayor Albio Sires, has brought back adult men’s basketball.
A two month long tournament, it will feature some exciting prizes at its conclusion.  The free tournament is for men at least 18 years of age and older.  Games are held on Friday night from 7 until 9 pm, and on Saturdays from 3 until 7 pm at the West New York Middle School.
Mayor Sires, who starred in basketball at both Memorial High School and at St. Peter’s College, wanted to bring the adult program back for the community.  It existed during the Mayor’s first run in office twenty years ago.
Any West New York resident can take advantage of the many program offerings in the Recreation Department or at the public library.  You just need to create an account through Rec Desk by going on line.  You can also check out the municipal website to sign up, or stop by Town Hall.
