In a letter to parents dated yesterday, Monday, December 7, 2020, West New York Superintendent of Schools Clara Brito Herrera announced that students will continue to receive remote learning through the end of the second marking period. that means virtual learning for West New York students through January 31, 2021.
The decision comes following the District’s consultation with the Town’s Health Department. Superintendent Herrera says, “This decision is not one that is made lightly, but safety and instruction have been our priority during this unprecedented time. Our comprehensive reopening plan will still be phased in throughout the second half of the school year and our goal remains to eventually enter hybrid learning in the near future.”
The Superintendent says technology training workshops will continue to take place for parents in outdoor, schoolyard settings. Those workshops are by appointment to ensure social distancing.
Students will continue to receive both breakfasts and lunch between 1 pm and 3:30 pm outside of their school. Parents or students should just stop by the schoolyard to pick them up.
