West New York Set to Host “Clean Up After Your Dog” Initiative on Saturday
Event will Feature a Morning Full of Activities for Dog Lovers
WEST NEW YORK, NJ – Mayor Gabriel Rodriguez, the West New York Department of Public Works led by Commissioner Yoleisy Yanez and the entire Board of Commissioners will host “WNY Good Neighbor Day – Clean Up After Your Dog” on Saturday, September 25 from 10AM until 1PM at the dog park in Donnelly Memorial Park on Boulevard East and 60th Street. The event aims to educate dog owners to pick up after their pets when they walk them on the streets of West New York and will feature competitions, giveaways, food vendors and much more!
“West New Yorkers love their canine companions and we must do our part to keep our town as clean and beautiful as possible,” said Commissioner Yoleisy Yanez. “This is a wonderful family event with a very important message, to make pet owners aware that they must pick up after their pets to keep our sidewalks and parks clean.”
“This event is back by popular demand after a very successful one earlier in the summer,” said Mayor Gabriel Rodriguez. “I commend the efforts of Commissioner Yanez for putting it together and the great job by our residents to follow up on their responsibility to pick up after their dogs in order to keep our streets clean.”
West New York pet owners are able to take advantage of the two dog parks in town, both located along picturesque Boulevard East, in addition to more than 80 clean up stations spread throughout the municipality to facilitate walking and cleaning up after their pets.
