700 West New York senior citizens were treated to a Thanksgiving luncheon at the Middle School on Saturday afternoon courtesy of Mayor Albio Sires and the Board of Commissioners.
The seniors had a traditional Thanksgiving meal. They danced and caught up with friends and neighbors. There was even a turkey raffle. The party is a tradition which goes back to Mayor Sires’ first administration.

Congressman Rob Menendez dropped by the event, as did Hudson County Executive Craig Guy. The seniors also found out that Mayor Sires and the Commissioners will be hosting them in mid-December at a huge Christmas celebration at The Graycliff catering hall in Moonachie. Bus transportation will be provided to the party, which will take place on December 13th. Pick ups will begin at 11:30 am from the Housing Authority buildings around town.

Mayor Sires thanks all of the volunteers who worked so hard to make Saturday’s luncheon a huge success.
