West New York youngsters are learning about endangered species as part of the Summer Enrichment Program.
Approximately 140 fourth through sixth grade students are enrolled in the District’s Enrichment Program at School Number 3. They are doing so in classes ranging from technology to dance, music to writing and science to art. It’s all based around the District’s STEAM Program.
The Program, which runs through the month of July, meets for four hours, Monday through Thursday.
The purpose of the program is to keep students engaged during the summer so they don’t lose their core skills.
The program is voluntary.
This summer’s session is based around a specific theme; endangered species. Each of the classes focuses on that topic. Students adapt the classes, whether its music or dance, writing or science, to incorporate that specific theme.
