For the first time ever, students attending West New York’s Freshman Drama Academy in the former St. Joseph of the Palisades building next to Memorial High School, are staging a production.  The musical “Once on This Island” opened Friday, and tickets remain for tonight’s final performance.

The musical is an all student production.  More than 30 freshman sing, dance, act, direct, handle lighting and sound production, as well as design costumes.  In addition, professional artists with Broadway experience have assisted the 9th graders with the production of the musical.

Rehearsals began back in September.

Tickets for Saturday’s final performance at Memorial High School remain available.  They are just $5 and may be purchased at the door.  Showtime is set for 5:45 pm.
