Weehawken Volunteer First Aid Squad Receives $30,000 Donation

The residents of Weehawken rely on the Weehawken Volunteer First Aid Squad for life saving rescues and paramedic services each and every day, but the coronavirus pandemic hit the Squad hard.  Donations were down and expenses were up.

On Wednesday, the First Aid Squad received a $30,000 donation from the Township Council.  The funds came from the second round of the federal CARES Act, also called the American Recovery Act, and couldn’t have come at a more critical time.

The Weehawken Volunteer First Aid Squad has never billed a patient for its services since it was formed in 1969.  If you would like to make a donation to the Squad, you can mail your contribution, made payable to the Weehawken Volunteer First Aid Squad, to PO Box 4917, Weehawken, New Jersey 07086.

All donations are tax deductible.
