“Your Children’s Future” Announces 2022 WNY Board of Education Slate

Three Local Leaders Submit Petition Signatures for April 19, 2022 Election, Jonathan Castaneda, Ana Sanchez and Douglas Velasquez Round Out “Your Children’s Future” Slate

WEST NEW YORK, N.J. — The “Your Children’s Future” team filed their petitions with the Board Secretary of the West New York Board of Education and have been confirmed as having the requisite credentials necessary to be placed on the ballot. The three candidates, Jonathan Castaneda, Ana Sanchez, and Douglas Velasquez are running under the vision and slogan of “Your Children’s Future” and are grouped under Column A on the official ballot of April 19, 2022.

The candidates are long-time residents of the Town of West New York who know and understand our district and our community. Jonathan Castaneda is heading the ticket as he runs for his third (3rd) full term on the Board of Education. Ana Sanchez and Douglas Velasquez round out the slate as they bring their background as parents, healthcare workers, and proud alumni of our School District to the Board.

The West New York School District continues to head in a positive direction with a clear vision for the future. In order to take it to the next level, we need experienced advocates in public education who understand our district, our community, and the needs of our children. The “Your Children’s Future” team brings a wealth of wisdom that will continue to build on the success over the course of the last six years and add value to the composition of the Board of Education. All three candidates are currently serving on the Board of Education and have served their community in various other capacities including on the Housing Authority, Planning Board, and the Little League. Now more than ever, is the time to put people with experience on the West New York Board of Education.

The West New York Board of Education election will take place on April 19, 2022. Polls will be open from 2:00PM to 8:00PM at all regular polling sites throughout Town.
