Un hombre de 28 años de Jersey City arrestado en conexión con el homicidio de Danforth Avenue

JERSEY CITY, NJ – A man has been arrested on charges connected to a fatal shooting that took place on Danforth Avenue in Jersey City earlier this year. Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced the arrest on Thursday, July 13, 2023.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit, with support from the Jersey City and Bayonne Police Departments, arrested 28-year-old Anton Mair in connection with the killing of 23-year-old Khalil King.

King, a resident of Fayetteville, North Carolina, was found dead from a gunshot wound inside a retail establishment at 152 Danforth Avenue in Jersey City on April 23, 2023. The Regional Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause of death to be a gunshot wound to the head, ruling the death as a homicide.

Mair, a Jersey City resident, has been charged with Murder in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:11-3a(1); Unlawful Possession of a Weapon in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-5b; and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4a(1). He was arrested at a residence on East 12th Street in Bayonne and is currently held at the Hudson County Correctional Facility, awaiting his first court appearance.

Prosecutor Suarez has credited the teamwork of the Homicide Unit, the Jersey City Police Department, and the Bayonne Police Department in the investigation and subsequent arrest. As per R.P .C.3.6(b)(6), the charges against Mair are accusations, and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
