3 disparos separados y no fatales de Paterson en menos de 24 horas

In less than a 24 hour period this holiday weekend, three, separate, non-fatal shootings occurred in Paterson according to the Paterson Police Department and the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.  No arrests have been made in any of the incidents as of 10 o’clock this morning.

The first incident took place on Sunday, July 4 at approximately 3:34 p.m. According to Passaic County Prosecutor Carmelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora, members of the Paterson Police Department were advised that a 20-year-old male Paterson resident arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound. Based on the initial investigation, it was determined that the victim was walking in the area of 20th Avenue and Gray Street in Paterson when an unknown individual fired gunshots from a passing motor vehicle.

The second shooting took place early this morning, at approximately 2:39 a.m.   The Paterson Police Department was advised that a 20-year-old male, Paterson resident arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound.  While the police were en route, a 22-year-old male Paterson resident arrived at the hospital seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound. Based on the initial investigation, it was determined that the victims were in the area of Park Avenue and Madison Avenue in Paterson when an unknown individual began shooting at them.

Then in a third, separate incident, at approximately 5:44 a.m. this morning, members of the Paterson Police Department responded to the area of East 23rd Street and William Street on a report of shots being fired.   Upon their arrival, police located a potential crime scene, but no victims were identified. A short time later, members of the Paterson Police Department were notified that a 31-year-old male Paterson resident, a 43-year-old male Paterson resident, and a 25-year-old female Paterson resident arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center seeking treatment for non-fatal gunshot wounds.

Based upon the initial investigation, it has been determined that the victims were standing in the area of East 23rd Street and 12th Avenue when an unknown gunman began shooting.  The investigation remains active and ongoing in this, as well as the other two cases.  More information will be released once it becomes available.
