Hudson TV has learned that 46-year old Gregory L. Bryant of Bayonne knowingly committed assault against a woman, identified as a relative, but not specified as the defendant’s wife, on February 26 of this year. Bryant allegedly struck the woman with a closed fist on both sides of her face, then grabbed her by the hair and shoved her to the ground.
The incident took place in the 16th Street Park in Bayonne at approximately 7:21 p.m. and is considered a domestic violence incident. The female victim told police, upon returning home, a verbal argument with Bryant became physical. He picked up a chair and threw it at her. That’s when he allegedly struck her in the face and shoved her to the floor. The woman left and drove to the park to wait for police to arrive.
Police observed a swollen, red mark above the victim’s eye, consistent with her story of the incident. She refused medical treatment.
Bryant is facing one count of assault.
