Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella has announced the arrests of JINGRU CHEN (DOB: 2/22/1993; single; unemployed) of 15156 20th Avenue, Queens, NY; FENGLEI FAN (DOB: 1/24/1988; single; unemployed) of 2142 Clintonville Street, Queens, NY; LIFAN FENG (DOB: 1/13/2002; single; unemployed) of 13418 Blossom Avenue, Queens, NY; XINGXIANG GAO (DOB: 7/12/1995; single; unemployed) of 146-37 Cherry Avenue, Queens, NY; and WEIQI WU (DOB: 6/04/1997; single; unemployed) of 14108 71st Road, Queens, NY on drug offenses. The arrests are the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.
On February 14, 2023, during a narcotics investigation, detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force identified JINGRU CHEN, FENGLEI FAN, LIFAN FENG, XINGXIANG GAO and WEIQI WU who were involved in the distribution of bulk shipments of illegal marijuana taking place in and around Fort Lee, NJ. Detectives executed search warrants of four vehicles and a storage facility in Fort Lee, NJ, as well as a separate storage facility in Jersey City, NJ, and discovered approximately 1,100 pounds of marijuana and over 50 pounds of THC edibles.
As a result of the investigation, JINGRU CHEN, FENGLEI FAN, LIFAN FENG, XINGXIANG GAO and WEIQI WU were charged with first-degree possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(10)a; and first-degree possession with the intent to distribute hashish, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b9(10)a. CHEN, FAN, FENG, GAO and WU were remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and he would like to thank the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office and the Fort Lee Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
