5th Annual Strides For Safety 5K Against Gun Violence September 19th

Hudson County Executive Craig Guy invites residents to register for Hudson County’s 5th Annual Strides for Safety 5K Against Gun Violence that will be held in Lincoln Park on Saturday, September 19. During the Strides for Safety 5K, hundreds of Hudson County residents and gun safety advocates will join together in community to run and raise awareness to end gun violence here in our home of Hudson County and across the country.

“Residents of all ages are invited to register and participate in the 5th Annual Strides for Safety 5K Against Gun Violence, taking place in beautiful Lincoln Park on Saturday, September 19! Reaching this five-year milestone is a testament to the strength of our community and our shared commitment to raising awareness, encouraging meaningful conversations, and working together to prevent gun violence,” said County Executive Guy. “This annual event inspires action and helps create lasting positive change, bringing residents, families, community partners, and local leaders together with a common goal: creating safer communities for everyone, especially our youth. We all must work together to end gun violence, and I encourage residents to register today, bring their families, and join us in standing together for a safer Hudson County.” 

The Strides for Safety 5K features a USATF-Certified course that showcases Lincoln Park in Jersey City. Following the race, runners, walkers, and their families are invited to celebrate at the After Party BBQ, featuring an awards ceremony, music, family-friendly activities, local public safety organizations, and health-focused vendors offering wellness resources, including yoga classes, smoothies, massages, and more. 

For five years, the Strides for Safety 5K has served as an opportunity for Hudson County residents to come together, honor the importance of community safety, and strengthen the partnerships needed to address gun violence. Through awareness, education, and collaboration, this event continues to send a powerful message: building safer neighborhoods is a shared responsibility, and every step we take together brings us closer to that goal.
