The Hoboken Police Department announced late on Friday afternoon that the body of a homeless woman was discovered behind 1 Newark Street on Thursday morning, shortly before 9:30. Police are reporting that the elderly woman did not have any identification.
The Hoboken Volunteer First Aid Squad, along with police, responded to the scene and discovered the lifeless body. The woman’s death, as of this time, is not considered suspicious.
Her body was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office early on Thursday afternoon.
