THIS STORY AND ZOOM INTERVIEW HAVE BEEN REPOSTED Last summer Secaucus saw the nasty Spotted Lanternfly attack trees. While the bug was first spotted in America about seven years ago in Pennsylvania, after making its way from the Far East, it has moved eastward to New Jersey and Hudson County during the warm, summer season.
Now Secaucus Environmental Department officials are instructing residents of the area how to attack the tree-loving critters’ egg sacks.
Ava Mroz, an environmental specialist with the Secaucus Environmental Department, joined Jeff Henig to discuss the bug and the best way to rid them from tree destruction in this Zoom interview.
